Notes:	Starting and ending at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Simsbury, this 5k road race and 1.25 mile walk take advantage of the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail. Since the race is mostly on the paved rails-to-trails path it is an easy course with very little traffic. Funds raised will support the SHELC youth program. A donation will also be presented to the Jordan Porco Foundation - a local organization creating educational programs for high school and college students with a goal to help prevent suicide. The entry fee for the 5k is $20 (18 years and under) and $25 (over 18 years). For the 1.25 mile walk the fee is $10 (18 years and under) and $15 (over 18 years). For walkers under 8 years old there is no entry fee. Register before May 1 to receive a free tri-blend race shirt. After April 30, you can purchase a shirt for an extra $5 ($20 value.) Electronic timing will be provided on race bibs for all runners and walkers (8 years old and over). Final results of time and place will be posted on http://www.plattsys.com/ptsrun.php. Metals for top finisher in each division will be awarded. The divisions are Children (under 8), Junior Youth (8 - 14), Senior Youth (15 – 18), Young Adult (19-29), Thirties (30-39, Forties (40 – 49), Fifties (50 – 59), Sixties (60 – 69) and Seniors (70+). Certificates of completion will be awarded to each participant that completes the 1.25 mile walk. Additionally, each 5k and 1.25 mile participant that completes the course will be entered into a drawing for a one-month free membership to Healthtrax in Avon.
